More DCYF Leadership Announcements

As you can see, decisions and announcements are coming out more frequently as we get nearer to July 1 and are closer to having all of our ducks in a row. Today I am making some announcements about more high-level management appointments — others will follow in the coming weeks.

These internal appointments and changes should not be super surprising to anyone, and you can read more details about each of these folks by following this link to their bios.

  • Heather Moss, Deputy Secretary of Operations and Infrastructure (starts July 1,2018)
  • Connie Lambert-Eckel, Assistant Secretary of Child Welfare Field Operations (starts July 1, 2018)
  • Marybeth Queral, Assistant Secretary of Programs for Adolescents (starts July 1, 2019)

I’m delighted these leaders have agreed to take on these critical roles for DCYF. All three bring critical knowledge about the policy space in which we operate and the ability to effectively manage our operations. We expect to share more information about the organizational model in the next few weeks. This will show how we’re planning to organize our work within the five buckets I mentioned earlier.

While we are settling on the major organizational units of the new agency, we’ve also realized these units will ultimately be most effective if their members are able to help design their own internal structures. This work will begin after July 1. Thus you’ll see in the next level of organizational models that most teams will transfer in a “lift and shift” way at the beginning, but our organizational work will continue after the initial transition.

Ross Hunter
